HOPE

Every time you respond positively to a suggestion, good or evil, you make it your own, and you will not remain the same afterwards. It leaves you better or worse.

This is the process that opens the door, and the reason we should be careful what we hear and how we hear!

Eve shouldn’t have had the discussion with the serpent. She should not have welcomed it or entertained it after the suggestion it put forward, against the instruction that God gave.

“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.” – 2 John 1:10-11 (KJV)

This discussion injected the rebellious thought in her heart.

What have you been listening to? And who have you been listening to? God is interested!

He asked Adam “Who told thee that thou wast naked?” – Gen 3:11a (KJV)

God is interested in the company you keep!

He queried Hezekiah on the visitors he received.

“Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.” – 2 Kings 20:14 (KJV)

Like a caring father would be interested in the company the children keep, God monitors our company and what we hear, as they may be damaging or injurious to our well-being.

Thought is simply discussing with an unseen entity; God or satan.

We attract unseen forces through the thoughts in our heart. We are magnets; human magnets! What you think comes to you!

“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” -Job 3:25 (KJV)

Fear is thought!

Most often people invite demons into their lives through thought. How?

“Fleecing” thoughts!

When they forecast, through the use of kola-nuts, the dice, coins, crystal ball, cowrie shells, Ouija boards, tarot cards, horoscope, scrying mirror, etc. Demons see these “thoughts” that are projected and are drawn to its source!

Every thought that lacks “pureness”, the presence of God, invite demons!

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” – Phil 4:8 (KJV)

to be continued.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do. ” (Proverbs 4:23). TNLT

Watch the information you receive because now, man has opened the other door!

A sponge soaks in everything presented to it; water, powder, oil, dust, even sand. With a little pressure, either through squeezing or beating, it releases part of its content.

The heart is like that. It soaks up every information presented to it. With the pressure of everyday, they come out as actions and attitude. The information you digest form the actions that become you!

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” – Proverbs 23;7a

Because of free-will, every information or knowledge you receive comes to you as a suggestion. Not a force or a thing of compulsion. You are responsible for your actions!

Neither God nor Satan will force you.

God punished Adam and Eve, not just because they received information from another source but because they CHOSE to believe that voice! It was a suggestion that Eve received from the serpent. A suggestion or advice. An advice, is a thing that can either be accepted or rejected. The point where the suggestion is received and begins to be “desirable” is the point of choice; the point of “open eyes”, where the “door” of evil knowledge is opened.
Through your thought, you surrender to either side. Your actual person is determined by your thought. You cannot be bigger, better or different than your thought.

And remember, no one who wants to do wrong should ever say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else either. Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires. These evil desires lead to evil actions, and evil actions lead to death.” (James 1:13-15 TNLT).

“The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us. We have no one to blame but the leering, seducing flare-up of our own lust.” (James 1:14 MSG).

It is your own evil desire, the final conclusion of your thought process that drags you away from God.

Though your thoughts are not visible in that they cannot be seen physically, your actions play them out!

The process starts as a suggestion or advert; aimed at making you participate or patronize.

“See how beautiful this tree is. Its fruit will make you wise!”

“Will it, really?” You reply, curious.

Or
“Someone may be hiding in the dark!”
“Oh, that’s true!” You reply in fear.

Every suggestion or advert targets your will. You either walk away or participate. The decision is always yours!

Every time you respond positively to a suggestion, good or evil, you make it your own, and will not remain the same afterwards. It leaves you better or worse.
This is the process that opens the door!
This is the reason we should be careful what we hear and how we interpret what we hear!

To be continued.

For as long as man sits there against the will of God, he remains under the control of Satan.

The question is, how did the image get here?

Man brought it in when he opened a door that should have remained shut!

Through his desire, Man opened a door too powerful for him to shut.

"HE WHO willfully separates and estranges himself [from God and man] seeks his own desire and pretext to break out against all wise and sound judgment." (Proverbs 18:1). AMP.

"An unfriendly man pursues selfishness, And defies all sound judgment." (Proverbs 18:1). - New English Bible.

A man's desire misleads him.

"Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires." (James 1:14). TNLT

Man fell when the door of desire was opened in him.

"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (Genesis 3:6).

Now the mind has got two open doors! The door of good and the door of evil! The door of the Spirit and the door of the carnal.

This means that the heart of man from where thoughts originate to make the man who he is, can be accessed by either God through the good door or by the devil through the evil door! This is what corrupted the heart and made it deceitful and wicked!

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9).

Now there is confusion!

Before the fall of Adam, only one door was open: the door of good. The other door was shut, passive. Adam opened it when he chose to willingly disobey God. Man's mind has since then been in a battle. A battle to know direction!

God had told Adam not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of good and Evil.

"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2:17).

It is like saying "don't depend on the product of this chamber; just obey me, follow what I say!"

Man could make plans but they have to be based on instruction from the Lord.

"A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps." (Proverbs 16:9).

Man's every step should be on the directions of God!

"The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD." (Proverbs 16:1).

No matter your plan, thought or word, God should guide you.

A man should not direct his steps.

"O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps." (Jeremiah 10:23).

"Man that walketh" means man that is alive! If he should not direct his ways, who should?

"Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?" (Proverbs 20:24).

Man was not to know good and evil. He was to know only good.

"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil. (Genesis 3:22a)

"Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God." (3 John 1:11).

God should guide us.

"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." (Isaiah 30:21).

"You will hear a word ......... this is the way." Information activates thought. Knowledge is of the heart/mind. Knowledge is nothing but information we have received; which in turn activates our thinking. The things we hear, see, perceive, touch, taste, make us think.

"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things." (Matthew 12:34-35).

"And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;" (Romans 1:28).

The children of Israel thought defeat after they received information from the spies.

“And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.” (Numbers 13:32)

“And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.” (Numbers 14:1).

Eve thought after receiving an information.

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” (Genesis 3:6).
What she heard opened the eyes of her heart and she “saw that the tree was good ….. and a tree to be desired to make one wise.”

Information makes one think!

The devil did not tell Adam he was naked. How did he know? He knew after he ate the fruit, an information that made him think!

When he said he was naked, God was like, “what led you to that, have you received information that I did not give you?”

No wonder the bible says:
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.” (Proverbs 4:23). TNLT

Watch the information you receive because now, man has opened the other door!

To be continued.

TREES 1

""Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are really wolves that will tear you apart.  You can detect them by the way they act; just as you can identify a tree by its fruit. You don't pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles. " - Matthew 7:15-16 (NLT)

True believers are known by their fruit: their character: "the way they act"!

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." -1 Corinthians 13:1-2.

Gift is not fruit!

You may be gifted to move mountains, heal the sick, raise the dead, speak with tongues of fire, and all; if you do not have a good and godly character you are nothing! Gift can never equal Fruit! Godly fruit is your Visa into Heaven.

Fruits are cultivated, gifts are given.

We should cultivate godly character, and keep it even in extreme conditions. That is why Jesus said "if your fruit remain". (John 15::16)

Everyday, things threaten your fruit; your character! The North and South winds would always blow upon you. What fragrance (character) would you display?

"Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits." (Song of Songs 4:16).

People, things and circumstances would be used against you; how would you react?

Your character would either make the Holy Spirit take delight in you or get repulsed from you!

WHAT KIND OF TREE IS MAN?

Man as a tree, is the moveable double or replica of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The Tree, though rooted to a spot in the garden, has the power of knowledge: good and evil knowledge. Man not rooted at a spot, has the power of knowledge: good and evil.

In Ezekeil 8, God took the prophet into a wall and showed him a chamber.

"Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door. And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here. So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about. And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up. Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth."

-Ezekiel 8:8-12.

".... Every man in the chambers of his imagery?"

Should your heart be split open, what kind of images would be found there? Would they be things you would be proud of? Would they give glory to God?

"Every man,..... his imagery."

This is the CHAMBER OF THOUGHT in the heart of Man; where he thinks, imagines and creates his actions; where his secret motives are rehearsed before being played out!

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." - Proverbs 4:23.

It is the power house in Man, from where the issues of his life flows! Whatever a man is, is from here, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." (Prov. 23:7)

If a man is godly, it is from here, if he is ungodly it is from here! Man becomes what is in this chamber!

"A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. " - Matthew 12:35.

He is THE product of his thought. His emotion, intellect, imagination, memory and will are rooted here.

A Chamber is a Judge's room for hearing cases that need to be taken out to Court. It is a place for private hearing; a room where two parties are listened to privately. It is a secret place.

The mind is like a Judge's Chambers. Here two parties, good and evil, are heard without any one else knowing or hearing. But you, the individual, being the Judge presiding over the Chambers, hear both parties in order to make a decision.

It was not supposed to be so! We were not supposed to be there, judging good and evil.

"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil." - Genesis 3:22a.

"Man is become", has become; meaning he was not like that before! Not like what?

"To know good and evil", he now judges!

Man has usurped God's place: to judge situations, take decisions and lead himself!

It was not so!

This was exclusively God's Chambers! God desires to be here; alone. The place He called "My Sanctuary".

Paul, speaking by the Spirit of God confirms:

"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" - 1 Corinthians 3:16.

But another image is seen here! An image that desires to have the place, by manipulating man, putting him there and turning him against God!

"For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:" - Isaiah 14:13.

Man has glorified himself under the influence of Satan!

For as long as man sits there against the will of God, he remains under the control of Satan.

The question is, how did the image get there?

Man brought it in when he opened a door that should have remained shut!

To be continued.

TREES!

"Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.  O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.  But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." - Matthew 12:33-37.

All through the scripture, God refers to man symbolically, as a tree.

"And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." (Psalm 1:3).

"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified." (Isaiah 61:3).

All the trappings or features of a tree can symbolically be seen in man. Paul understood this and encourages us to be rooted in Christ.

"Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." (Colossians 2:7).

Trees take root. Man takes root. Any tree whose root is shallow will fall. Any believer who is not rooted deeply in Christ, will fall at the least tempest or storm..

Trees have leaves. Leaves do not add to the future of the trees; they are useless once they fall from the trees,

Man has a form of godliness,

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." (2 Timothy 3:5).

This form is useless to him in eternity. An outer religious covering that has no power. Man has decked himself with various colours of garments for various kinds of worship. He follows a form, lifeless rituals of do's and don't's, "official" practices that cannot make one acceptable to God, because the form lacks true righteousness. Such trees can deceive.

Religion may make us visible to all, yet it can not approve us before God; and even before men. Our fruit -character- does.

Trees bear fruit. Man is encouraged to bear fruit.

"Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:" (Matthew 3:8).

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. " (John 15:16).

This is the real power of the believer! Not being denied but acknowledged by heaven.

"Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:20).

In being the "meekest" of men, Moses possessed the character of gold, which gave him power both with God and with men, and took him to the top. A loss of character also brought him down! Just obey the Word; speak to the Rock, and he disobeyed by striking it.

WHAT IS FRUIT!

""Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are really wolves that will tear you apart.  You can detect them by the way they act; just as you can identify a tree by its fruit. You don't pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles. " (Matthew 7:15-16 NLT)

True believers are known by their fruit: their character: "the way they act"!

..... to be continued.

MESSENGERS 2

As a messenger who are you affecting? Every messenger carries a message. What message do you carry? When people see you, are they inspired to hope, gladness and smiles? Or does your presence stir in them hopelessness, and suggests to them they can never amount to anything in life? Does your presence encourage or condemn others?

The duty of the messenger of the Lord is to prepare His Way.

"As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee." - Mark 1:2 (KJV)

"Listen! I hear the voice of someone shouting, "Make a highway for the LORD through the wilderness. Make a straight, smooth road through the desert for our God. " - Isaiah 40:3.

(NLT)

Your duty is to prepare that dry place so the Lord might come in. Soften that situation for that brother, that sister; show the love of God, shine the light of God into that troubled soul! Give hope to people around you. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven! (Matt. 5:16 KJV)

You are a messenger, not only the "ordained ministers"!

Messengers do not do their own will, but the will of their master!

"For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me."  - John 6:38 (KJV)

Where He sends you should go! What He desires, you should do!

Imagine Matthew the Custom officer following Jesus to the house of Peter the fisherman, a demonstration of love and humility. Or of Peter (a Jew) in the house of Cornelius (a Gentle), a proof of self-denial.

One key to being a good messenger of the Lord is to KILL SHAME!

Kill shame in two areas of your Christian Faith.

(1) Shame of the crucified Saviour.

"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." - Mark 8:38 (KJV)

Paul confirms:

"Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord Jesus, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God." - 2 Timothy 1:8 (KJV)

Many do not believe in a suffering Messiah; they are ashamed to be identified with Him. By confession, many acknowledge Him Lord and Master. But in everyday practice, they deny Him, by believing no disciple of His should carry his or her cross. They believe Christianity is a call to "feel good", a bed of roses, "at least did He not become poor that we might be rich?" they query. (2 Cor. 8:9) A highly misunderstood scripture!

(2) The word.

Many are ashamed of the Word, yet not aware they are. When we chose our own way over the Word of God, we prove our shame for it. The rejection of the Word is a result of having a "better alternative"; a result of our intellectual prowess which we are proud to carry out. Those times we feel the Word limits us and not "befitting" our status.

Again that scripture.

"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." - Mark 8:38 (KJV)

Being ashamed of His Word is manifest whenever we disobey. Every disobedience is a mark of pride; a mark of feeling that the Word is not good enough.

Masters do the thinking and issue instructions. Servants and messengers obey. As messengers, our duty is to obey.

"If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;"  - Isaiah 1:19 AMP.

MESSENGERS

This may sound unpleasant. But if you were on a sick bed and the doctors have given up on you; and from every indication, you have just that day to live. (Just an imagination of of course).

What would you do should God give you tomorrow?

Fight the people you have always fought? Or make peace with them?

To answer that question, I think we should first ask ourselves why He should give us tomorrow. Yes, why should He give you tomorrow?

Every tomorrow the Lord gives us is not for ourselves but for His pleasure.

We are MESSENGERS! We are sent by God to do His Will, to make a difference in His Name.

With God there are two kinds of messengers: Angelo (Greek), Mala'k (Hebrew).

These two are:

(a) heavenly messengers comprising of the divine and the demonic; the Angels and the fallen Angels. (Believe it or not they are still used of God!)

(b) earthly messengers.  This includes Man and Animals; flesh and blood.

“At evening on that day, the first day of the week, when, for fear of the Jews, the doors were shut where the disciples were, Jesus came among them and said to them, May peace be with you! And when he had said this, he let them see his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. And Jesus said to them again, May peace be with you! As the Father sent me, even so I now send you.” John 20:19-21 (BBE)

Like every messenger lives to please his master, we live to please Him Who sent us.

“He who sent me is with me; he has not gone from me, because at all times I do the things which are pleasing to him.” - John 8:29 (BBE)

All disciples of Christ are sent; not only the Apostles!

“And when they came in, they went up into the room where they were living; Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James, the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas, the son of James. And they all with one mind gave themselves up to prayer, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers. And in those days Peter got up among the brothers (there were about one hundred and twenty of them).”

- Acts 1:13-15 (BBE)

You are a messenger!

We are told how Jesus sent His disciples. The first time, He sent Apostles.

“And getting the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all evil spirits and over diseases, to make them well. And he sent them out to be preachers of the kingdom of God, and to make well those who were ill.” - Luke 9:1-2(BBE)

The second time He sent none-apostles.

“Now after these things, the Lord made selection of seventy others and sent them before him, two together, into every town and place where he himself was about to come.” - Luke 10:1 (BBE)

Messengers of God go beyond "ordained" ministers.

His messengers follow Him, in agreement, everywhere, ready to do His Will even at the peril of their own life, and are not offended in the Lord!

Messengers like Esther, who are ready to do the Will of the Lord, though it leads to “perishing”.

Messengers like Shedrack, Meshack and Abednego, ready to send a Godly message to the king and to their brethren.

Messengers like the house of Chloe who were disturbed over the contention in the Corinthian Church and told it to Paul that corrections be made and God's Will be established.

Messengers like Phebe, who carried Paul's  letter to the Romans at the peril of her life; the letter we call the Book of Romans.

As a messenger, who are you affecting?

(To be continued)

THE PLACE CALLED PROVISION

If people knew there was a place called provision; a place where every need would be met, I believe we would all go there to live.

But is there really a place called provision? A place where needs are met?

"And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it will be seen." (Genesis 22:14).

God made Abraham to know the place after a three-day journey.

Moses knew about the place.

"But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come." (Deuteronomy 12:5).

The next was David, who conquered the City from the Jebusites, and named it Jerusalem; with its other names: Zion, City of the King, Mountain of His Holiness, City of the Lord, etc.

"And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thy hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing-place of Araunah the Jebusite." (2 Samuel 24:16).

As a good leader, he bought the site from Araunah, and years later Solomon built the Temple on it.

Obadiah confirms it as the place of provision.

"But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions." (Obadiah 1:17).

Upon Mount Zion, are possessions to be possessed.

Yes, the place exists, and takes a journey of three days to get there.  However the place shown the Patriarchs and the Prophets was only a type of the real place.

Solomon knew it was not the real place.

"But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!" (2 Chronicles 6:18).

God declares it is not the real place.

"Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build to me? and where is the place of my rest? For all these things hath my hand made, and all these things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word." (Isaiah 66:1-2).

The real place of provision is Jesus, the King of Zion and the Head of the Church.

Jesus is the Place of Provision.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:" (Ephesians 1:3).

Jesus is the place God dwells and meets with sons of men.

"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power:" (Colossians 2:9-10).

The three day journey has been done for us by Jesus when He died and rose on the third day. The three day journey is written to our credit when we believe in Him and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.

However, the provision can be accessed after meeting two major requirements.

(1) DELIVERANCE.

No, not deliverance from the evil one as Jesus has done that for us. We need however to be delivered from SELF!! We are so full of self; and almost bordering on self worship.

The place called provision is a place of sacrifice. There, Abraham sacrificed Isaac. Sacrifice precede provision. Without self-sacrifice we cannot see the provision! We need to let go of self and trust completely in the hand of the Sovereign God.

Being IN Christ means losing your identity and taking His identity, knowing it is no longer you that live but He that lives in you.

It is not a place for rationalization. Rather, you should live your life as He would! The place of provision is a place of complete surrender!

(2) A PURE HEART.

The second condition is a pure heart.

"Who shall ascend upon the hill of the LORD? and who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully." (Psalms 24:3-4).

A pure heart brings out good things: thoughts and actions. A pure heart thinks on things that glorify God.

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8).

A pure heart does not think or imagine evil against anyone, it does not delight or rejoice when evil befalls any. A pure heart overflows with compassion and love for others. This pureness of heart is what gives birth to "clean hands", actions. A pure heart will not permit  walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stand in the way of sinners nor sit in the seat of the scornful.

This is the summary of the good man.

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart, bringeth forth that which is evil: for from the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." (Luke 6:45).

This is he that will receive provision.

"He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation." (Psalms 24:5).

May we be renewed in our heart, and guard it with all diligence.

The Law of Abide.

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine: no more can ye, except ye abide in me." (John 15:4).

God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. And only in Jesus do we have the fullness of God.

Our productivity and success in life (naturally and spiritually) are in Him.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:" (Ephesians 1:3).

But satan fights to keep us away from Him, thereby making us fail.

This is our battle!

"But their minds were blinded: for until this day the same vail remaineth untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ." (2 Corinthians 3:14).

"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine to them." (2 Corinthians 4:4).

Satan blinds the children of God from seeing that all we need are already in Christ. This blindness, ignorance (Hosea 4:6), makes us leave the "ground", Jesus, that we ought to remain in, abide in. "Occupy till I come".

Paul therefore, prays that our eyes of the spirit be open that we may know all that God has given us.

"Wherefore I also, having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love to all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints," (Ephesians 1:15-18).

A lack of understanding of God's will, pitches us against God and prevents all things from working together for our good.   Understanding the will of God; the knowledge of what God has freely given to us can help to make us remain or abide in Him.

On its own this knowledge alone, cannot make us abide. It would help however to make us abide.

When we add contentment to the knowledge of God, the "gain" of abiding becomes ours, as the enticing antiques of the enemy would not appeal to us any more.

Divine Restoration

At creation, Adam and Eve were covered with and enveloped in the glory of God.

They were not bothered about what to eat because they had abundance. They were wealthy and lacked nothing.

As long as they remained in the glory of God, they were on top, above everyother thing God created. They had dominion and control over the works of God's hands; all things created surrendered to them, they were "gods". Because of the glory of God other things "worshipped" them.

The word of their mouth was awesomely powerful. Adam spoke and all animals became what Adam said; till date. He had that authority, his word was a decree.

He lost this combination of wealth, position and  authority to Satan when he disobeyed God.

Man could not survive without struggle, the labour of tilling the ground, which Adam did not do in the garden. His position was lost; the animals that honoured him rebelled and began to dishonour him: they no more surrendered or submitted to him. Moreover, his word became empty; not understood and consequently powerless. He was stripped of anointing: the presence of God.

At the birth of Jesus, the last Adam, the wise men gave gold, frankincense and myrrh, representing wealth, worship and authority! The same things Man lost through the first Adam!

Gold representing wealth, frankincense for authority, worship; while myrrh represented oil: anointing.

The celebration of Christmas is the celebration of restoration. The restoration of God's glory, which Man lost at the garden.

It is not just the TIME of His birth but the PURPOSE of His birth that matters.

May we go beyond arguing TIME and celebrate the PURPOSE (Reason) for the season.

The Bold and the Beautiful. 2

Beauty, is a noun from which the adjective "beautiful" is gotten, and means to have or

possess the qualities that give pleasure to the mind or senses.

The prodigal son got from his father what he requested. But certainly, the boy's action did not bring the man pleasure! The fact you got what you asked in prayer does not mean the Father found pleasure in your request!

No father would approve of the boy's motive, which was obvious when he took everything and left home.

He wanted to be free from parental control when spending the family wealth, on things he loved and how he pleased.

More than anything, Christians go to God in prayers, full of faith and boldness but lack in beauty that pleases the Father.

This beauty is not in outward things: what we do for the Lord or things we give to His work, no. But beauty of the soul.

"Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price." - 1 Peter 3:3-4.

Character is a combination of many things. Things that give God pleasure.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." - Galatians 5:22-23.

Without Character, even a prayer full of faith is as nothing before God.

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." - 1 Corinthians 13:1-2.

"Nothing" means nothing!

The prayer of faith without godly character is nothing! Because a prayer of faith is triggered from a godly character. Without character you may, like the prodigal son, have result but it will not last; it will be cut off, dissipated, blown away. It is not of God.

How do we build a godly character?

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. You are now a citizen of a new Kingdom. Abide by the rules of this Kingdom.

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." - Matthew 6:10.

Here on earth, in your life and world, recreate and live by the law of heaven! What better way can we learn that outside the One that came from heaven.

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me: for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls." - Matthew 11:29.

Let us learn from Him, and do things His way.

The Bold and the Beautiful.

The word bold is an adjective describing the absence of fear or shame. Boldness is synonymous with Faith.

".....  but the righteous are bold as a lion." - Proverbs 28:1b.

"......but the righteous are fearless as a young lion." - Proverbs 28:1 RBV

Those standing right with God are not afraid of anything except God.

"...  The just shall live by faith." - Romans 1:17. KJV

"... The Righteous shall live by faith." - Romans 1:17 NIV

As "just" is synonymous with "righteous", so is "boldness" with "faith".

Neither Faith nor Boldness works alone. They have "backbone", or what we can call helpers: things that help them be what they are.  They work with Love and Hope.

"Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." - 1 Corinthians 13:7. (TNLT)

A very close look at that scripture will reveal to us that Love does not give up on itself,  would not let go of faith, and at the same time holds firmly to hope. These three "abide", they stay or live together, intertwined and inseparable.

Just like the Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one and work together, so does the triad of Love, Faith and Hope.

As a fruit of the Spirit, one has the others in it. With this in mind, lets approach our theme.

"And he said, A certain man had two sons: And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided to them his living. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. And when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land; and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat; and no man gave to him. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger!" (Luke 15:11-17).

The prodigal son had boldness but no beauty!

Many Christians are like him. They have boldness, a synonym of faith; boldness to come to the Father, to make their request and to receive. Paul enjoins us to come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy.

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." - Hebrews 4:16.

Christians approach God with His word, they believe yet they lack the vital instrument: BEAUTY!

BUILD TO PROSPER

"In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying," - Haggai 1:1.

A prophet of God, Haggai, was sent to both the Governor of Judah and the High Priest. They were respectively, the political and spiritual leaders of God's people.

God told them what was in the heart of the people; that it was not time to build the house of God. They believed work on the house of God should be embarked upon after building their own houses.

The self spirit had enveloped the people of God. They fortified and beautified their houses, their jobs, their businesses, they packaged and repackaged themselves to be presentable and acceptable. But the house of God was left unattended.

God told the two leaders that for this, He had shut up the heavens over the people by calling a drought to the works of their hand. The people toiled and laboured harder than they did before, only to get little or next to nothing from their labours.

Today we see the same trend. People, even children of God, have become full of self!

"You should also know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control; they will be cruel and have no interest in what is good.  They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act as if they are religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. You must stay away from people like that." - 2 Timothy 3:1-5. NLT

Self is enthroned above God and His Kingdom. And the word of God commands draught whenever man enthrones anything or anyone above God. Money seem to be in circulation but the purchasing power is weak! People labour harder than they used to just to make ends meet. In some countries many take up two or more jobs to survive; stress is so much on the increase globally, demons and witchcraft activities are blamed for it especially in Africa. But they are not always the ones responsible for it.

No; most times we are! Our refusal to put God and His Kingdom first has shut up the heavens! Only when we make heaven our number one desire and pursuit would other things follow us (Matthew 6:33). But we concentrate on ourselves; our jobs, our businesses, our education; we attend conferences and seminars to better our lot or fortune, but God alone has the final say.

The Word has gone out of His mouth; it is unchanging and forever potent! We are the ones that have changed our position in relation to His Word, hence the shut heavens.

Many prayers are made; unanswered. Not that God does not answer prayers but our non-compliance to His Word has separated us from His favour.

If you do not take an interest in building the house of God, you are not a candidate for prosperity; no matter the prayers, the fast, the hard work, preparation or connection: economic, social or political.

"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." - Ecclesiastes 9:11.

Human strength alone cannot equal enduring success or prosperity. No, they do not come by labour but by observing and obeying the Word of God.

Look around the world today, and the consequences of not rising to build would be glaringly manifest!

People put in so much in business and commerce generally; man-power, finance, days and nights. They spend and are spent, and are full of expectation, They know what they did, and are so sure of a mighty harvest. But........, what comes out at the end? Little!!!

Again, there is food everywhere (it seems), yet are not affordable. The little, people are able to buy and eat does not satisfy them. What used to be enough is no longer enough. Adults, as well as Children, ask for more, everyone is screaming "my leanness, my leanness!"

"From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe to me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yes, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously." - Isaiah 24:16.

"Water everywhere!" But most are polluted and not drinkable. We drink and are not filled: our thirst is not assuaged.

Jeremiah lamented.

"We have drank our water for money; our wood is sold to us." - Lamentations 5:4.

Good drinking water that would assuage thirst has become expensive!

We wear thick layers of clothes to keep warm, yet the cold comes from within!

Equally disheartening is to earn wages; salary, yet not able to meet basic needs.

Different theories are given for this; some ridiculously foolish and borne out of ignorance.

Yet, we are not looking to see if we are standing right with God.

"Examine yourselves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye are reprobates?" - 2 Corinthians 13:5.

I think this should be the first thing to do, not claim His promises while neglecting work in His house.

Now, not later, is the time to build; now while it is day and the Sun is shining, because the night is coming when no man can work.

God is not asking us to build a physical house. Jesus has built the house. We are called to maintain it, occupy in love, humility, temperance, gentleness, patience, faith, kindness, hope and joy.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23).

These should be employed as we seek to better the "people" in worship, and the "place" of worship: a building, under a tree or canopy, in the city or in the forest.

The New Covenant house of God is not the physical building but the souls gathered in worship, "where two or more are gathered in my name". Building the house of God is serving others!

We are called to serve one another.

"And the king will answer and say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me." (Matthew 25:40).

Today, most believers do not "build" the house of God. They would not pick the broom to sweep the place of worship, or dust the chairs. They are not members of any department of the Assembly: choir, protocol or ushering, benevolence or hospitality, intercessory, welfare, evangelism, etc.

They are in Church, not to give but to get! They do not build, yet desire prosperity.

Prosperity is getting manifold of what you give out. If you give nothing out, you get nothing in! That is the law, the law of sowing and reaping, planting and harvesting. What you give comes back to you multiplied! Sow into lives! Sow into the place of meeting. Sow joy, love, etc into the life of others; even money, and it will come back to you after many days, "good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over." - Luke 6:38

Shalom.
